The second-hand shopping app has revised its measurement guidelines for female and kids' apparel but did not contact all shoppers about the modification. Social Media Reaction Many shoppers and sellers are expressing on platforms stating that platform listings now display a modified sizing category versus the original listing because of the remapping. The company said the revised method more closely matches other platforms. It has advised users to check their listings and manually change the size where appropriate, which has left users frustrated. Sizing System Changes Before the change, the measurements included numerical and alphabetical indicators, like S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes a letter and a range like S/UK 8-10. With some products, the measurements have been reclassified - like an L measurement was formerly size 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. Shopper Stories A fashion influencer, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. Stephanie Gallen, from Glasgow, stated items she posted featuring size 14 markings were appearing on the platform as measurements 20-22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they may become frustrated," she explained. Necessary Adjustments Another shopper, based in Derby, explained she became annoyed due to the update requiring manual adjustment the measurements for "each individual item". "Personally, this is quite irritating, as I'm chronically ill and Vinted sales have been crucial for me since losing part of my income," she said. Marketplace Information The service features exceeding 100 million users, with 18 million British users. It has become a favored option versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This is not the initial instance that an unexpected update on the platform has faced criticism: last year, the service retracted a modification to its shipping options due to shopper criticism.
