Lille shot-stopper Berke Ozer spectacularly saved 3 consecutive penalties in the closing minutes of their Europa League win over AS Roma.

Lille led through Hakon Arnar Haraldsson's early goal after he capitalised on an defensive lapse to score.

However home side Roma were given the golden opportunity to equalise and earn a tie when they were given an late penalty after handball by Mandi.

Substitute Artem Dovbyk stepped forward to execute the penalty but his shot was stopped, only for referee the referee to instruct a do-over after Ozer was judged to have stepped forward.

Dovbyk stepped up once more only to be denied a second time by the visiting goalkeeper, but on this occasion the Turkish player was deemed to have stepped forward prematurely.

The duty to take the final effort was then handed to Soule, but he too was saved by Ozer and this time the save counted to help confirm the French team's victory.

AS Roma manager Gasperini commented afterwards: "I have never witnessed 3 saved spot-kicks in one game. It was an almost unique freak occurrence, which finally affected the result."
