Cross-Border Consequences The proliferation of firecrackers during the celebrations also triggered a controversy with neighbouring the neighboring country, with representatives in Pakistani Punjab province pointing to worsening pollution levels in their urban centers on pollutants coming from neighboring India following the festivities.
